Permaculture Design Courses and sustainable design for your land or your community.
______________________Simple steps for ecological and social harmony using permaculture Design.
One of the last keepers of the original shipibo traditions has been killed.
It is very sad for me to say specially because its someone i met
and someone that blessed me in my work.
We will never forget what you have done for us and the protection you will keep giving werever you are.
A traditional healer and elder Olivia Arévalo Lomas of the Shipibo Konibo Indigenous people of Peru was assassinated yesterday with five shots to the heart.
Olivia was 84 years old
In addition to the attack on Lomas, the following written death threat against another Shipibo female healer reads: "Señora y Sr Magdalena Florez Agustín, Bernardo Murayari Ochavano You have 48 hours to flee. One bullet for each of you and if you don't do as told there will be the consequence that more bullets will rain down on you"
Gracias maestra Olivia

Permaculture is a sustainable design system that provides for human needs while having positive effects on the surrounding environment.
Have you ever asked yourself this questions?
How can i design my farm, my garden or my house so that i become more self sufficient? How can i get more connected with nature and understand how it works?
In what way can i save energy on everything i do?
How can i recover and redesign areas or objects in a way that they become more ecological and nature friendly?
How can i live a more healthy life without having to buy so many chemical products?
How can i develop or be part of a network of people that is inspired to be of positive change to this world?
I want to develop design skills and find a new way of thinking.
I want to support other people to find a way to live a low impact lifestyle
I would like to be living connected with nature working the same way it works.
I see myself living with a community that works toguether.
I want to recover an old farm and live with what it can produce.
On this course we will answer these questions and will support these ideas
The PDI is the course that creates the certified permaculturists, many people practice permaculture in an intuitive way with wonderfull results, on this course we learn about the thinking of permaculture, the way we look at things, so this course has the objective of changing the way we look at the world, thats why for many people its a life changing experience.
On this days we look at the story of permaculture, were it comes from and were it is going, we share the alternative ways of presenting knowledge of the new school permaculture, there is a focus to start to create the community that will live toguether until the end of the course, this is all part of the introduction to social permaculture that we cover on the early days of the course.
It is important from the beginning of the course that students understand the ethics and principles of permaculture and how ecosystems work, so we develop skills reading the landscapes, and understanding climates and microclimates on the context of natural patterns and successions .
Building soil and soil consciousness its the base for regenerating ecosystems, thats were we move our focus wen we want to learn about creating abundant stable gardens or forests, independent of being on a urban or rural context.
We talk about land regeneration with soil building and proper water retention and management, the secrets of living water and how to regenerate deserts.
The PDI is a wonderfull course for people that like to work with plants and animals, living material as we call it, during these days we dive deep on garden design and landscaping, companion planting, food forests and animal care, we hope that by the end of this course people can design gardens and farms on the permaculture way.
One
of our big goals is that our students understand and practice this new
way of thinking, the way of nature, so we focus on exercises about
sistemic thinking and ecological dynamics so that we can get the goals
of creating a change of attitude of the way people see everything around
.
The
PDC its a design course so the main focus is on developing design
skills in a way that students can apply sustainable strategies any place
they go.

On the PFC you will learn about forest gardening and how to create a stable diverse abundant forest that produces food.
A food forest is a garden where
we encourage nature to do the majority of the work, yet are able to
harvest an abundance of fresh food. Sounds too good to be true? Well
it’s not! Join us to learn how to create one in any urban, suburban or
rural space, even where space is at a premium.
A food forest is modelled on
natural woodland, with crops being grown in multiple layers to produce
the maximum yield from a minimum of space. Imagine a diverse and
multi-layered mix of tree canopy, berry-laden shrubs, vines, ground
cover and planting beds. Plants are chosen which benefit each other and
attract beneficial inspects. A healthy, fertile and diverse ecosystem is
created which ultimately requires little work from you apart from
harvesting. Very little digging, watering, weeding or pest control, and
as beautiful as any woodland edge!
This four day course, through a
combination of classroom based and practical sessions, will give you
all the tools you need to design your own food forest.
Course content: Agro ecology Food forest creation and management How to combine fruits and veggies Climate zones Plants and trees species How, when and where to plant Social forests

Helder studied and worked with pioneers like Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton in Turkey, Doug Bullock in the Amazon, Rosemary Morrow in Austria, Graham Bell in Scotland, Darren dougherty, Ernst Gotcsh, Sepp Holzer in Portugal and many others in countries like Haiti, Canada, Egipt, Finland, Peru, always learning and practicing this sustainable design methods.
While living in the city he dedicated 5 years on developing urban permaculture projects and for the last 5 years traveling and developing permaculture institutes around the world.
It all started in 2009 teaching permaculture to students at the agriculture university and since then learning and teaching in many different climates and getting to know the old ways and new ways of sharing information.
By December 2012 in the Peruvian Amazon working in support to the shipibo indigenous communities Helder created the New School Permaculture and is now developing alternative educational methods.
In 2013 the New School has been presenting at the IPC International Permaculture congress in Cuba and its often invited for lectures at the European Permaculture Congress and many universities worldwide.
TheNew School Permaculture uses creative and inspiring educational tools that enable the students to empower each other in a way that many people have never experienced in their lives before.
The course is presented by creative non formal education methods, that are based on creating a bridge between the right and left side of the brain, so that the analytical and creative abilities of the students get fully stimulated and get the most out of the experience...for many people is the most empowering and inspiring transformative process of their lives...and they carry this with them every were they go....and thats our goal.

School Permaculture. Helder estudió y trabajó con Bill Mollison, Sepp
Holzer, Doug Bullock, Rosemary Morrow, Darren dougherty, Ernst Gotsh
America Latina
