What are the new permies able to do?

To design holistic systems demands many skills, you can study mushrooms all life like Paul Stamets and still have a lot to learn about mycelium...

Its natural that new born permies miss the "system thinking" experience and the "system practice" experience specialy wen we talk about working in diferent climate zones...and we know that all this is just part of the natural succession of permaculture education and that we all have to go thru.

We know that "in the problem is the solution" so to create a "beneficial relationship" with the "local knowledge" and "landscape" are the keys for a harmonized environment.

I use a principle that says "if you dont adapt it will crack" any movement as any religion that preaches that we alone have all the solutions will never be sustainable.

Our main chalenge is at the same time our bigest gift and that is the "diversity".

What is the New School Permaculture?

The New School Permaculture is a non formal school with the vision to create harmonious social and ecological learning environments.

Our Mission is to focus our energy on researching and developing sustainable educational methods to inspire active elements of change in this world.

With landscape care and social harmony courses the New School Permaculture will explore with its students how can we create more inner power to face the global chalenges, what are our limiting patterns and how to create a transformation wen we are losing our personal energy, into a more inspired and positive way of living.

The intention with our courses is to empower our students so that they become more connected with their dreams and passions and more aware about how to create beneficial connections that will contribute to our local and global dreams.

To achieve our goals we use a very diverse set of pedagogic methods based on learner centered non formal education, free style learning and teaching, horizontal leadership and play therapy, as a way to activate both the right and left side of the brain of all participants, extending the edges of the learning ecosystem in a verry transformative and relaxed celebration were everyone has a lot of fun, in moments we will never forget.

By the end of this experience we hope to find together models that we can use for our inner transitions, the way we make decisions, how to manage people with different opinions, integrating our needs and the needs of others and designing for sustainable social energy systems in our communities.

Helder Valente has been traveling the world in several continents and climates learning and sharing about positive solutions for the chalenges humanity is facing.

In this last years Helder has been designing many gardens and food forests, finished his permaculture diploma with the british permaculture association and is part of the european permaculture teachers partnership.

A big part of the work developed has been towards education for children and handicap, people in developing countries like Haiti, polititians in europe and indigenous communities like in the andes with Quechua people or the amazon jungle with the Shipibo populations.
